2022 General Election: Vote for a good government – Chaudhry

Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry says if people do not vote out the FijiFirst government in the 2022 General Election, Fijians will continue to remain in their control.
While speaking to supporters in Lautoka over the weekend, he said Fijians should exercise their right to vote if they want change.
“If we fail to vote them out then forget it, they will get a good hold of things and we will not be able to move out of their control,” he said.
“My advice is to look far into the future.”
He said voters should not be swayed by politicians offering giveaways.
“Our people get distracted by freebies and giveaways.
“We should live with respect and not on somebody’s charity and donation.
“We should be able to provide for our families from our hard work and sweat.”
He added that Fijians should vote for a government that would help them get out of poverty.
“Fiji is a beautiful country with plenty of things here. We need to ask ourselves, why are we poor, what is the reason.
“We need a government who will look after its people and country and not themselves like these people.
“Take this message to your family and friends.
“We shouldn’t leave this opportunity.
“We must bring back what we have lost.”
